It was geat. I would suggest asking for an enclosed balcony on your room if you can get one, just ads another space for play on. We took our kids to Waterbom, Reptile Park and Bird Park, The Zoo is apparently very good. I wouldn't advise taking your little one to see the monkeys, I think they are horrible things and if you dare smile at them..... There is a Time Zone about mid way in Kuta, where McDonalds is and the kids loved having a Macca's fix and then a play in Time Zone.
We found our kids just wanted to do lots of swimming, as it was pretty hot and they didn't travel all that well in the heat. Shopping was best at night times, when it was a little cooler and there was lots of lights and things to see.
A lot of places had highchairs, a few didn't. We had a strap that we would strap our 1 yr old in with, as none of the high chairs had straps and he spent the whole time trying to climb out of them until we put this strap across him and he sat still. If they didn't have high chairs and he wouldn't sit in his pram, we used to sit him on the normal seat and strap him in and he would be quite happy. We found that the fans with the lights and all the flashy things that seem to be in this year (you will know what I mean when you get there) were a GREAT source of distraction when he got bored!!
We didn't have typhoid done for either of them. Our gp said that their childhood immunisations plus Hep A were sufficient. So we just had Hep A done, as childhood immunisations were up to date.
I've gone blank on our trip and am not at home at the moment, we where there for 3 weeks, so when I do get home and come up with some other things I will let you know.
Make sure you take some amusement on the plane for your little one. AP doesn't provide kids packs and I found with the day flight, they didn't sleep.
