going next trip :-( It is your choice but would not be something i would do if i was in your position(I have been rafting in bali before) I could be wrong but i don't think you would be covered(insurance) if you was to go ahead and do this sort of activity.
If i had major surgery on my back then i would not go and do something like this, i had to disappoint my kids with the same thing as i had, had major surgery within that year before one of our trips and we had promised them we would take them, they were young and understood why we had to put it off.
It is yours and your fella's choice in the end. Please take care be careful you only get 1 chance at life.
