done the double layer, shorts under trousers, t-shirts with cardigain/jacket. Easy to slip off trousers just before arrival even whilst sitting in airplane seat, cardigan/jacket off and into bag. Then for flight return put these in you hand luggage, put on whilst in airport at Bali, planes are usually quite cold, even the 3 hr flight from Perth. Have seen people wearing them zip off to shorts trousers also. As for shoes wear a lightwear pair of slipons or sneaker.
