Yes, this place is cheap and the reason why is it is predominantly sold in large quantities. That is most things are. Bintang can be bought in crate quantities or single as with most other drinks-alcoholic and soft. They also sell spirits although I have never really looked at these. If you buy a crate of Bintang which is the cheapest way to buy you can take the empty bottles and crate back to the corner shop outside the Melasti beach Resort(i call this shop jewels- because the lady that owns it is one of the wealthiest woman in bali and is always wearing her diamonds and pearls)she will then trade it for soft drinks, sweets etc for the kids or what ever you work out with her. This is because she gets a rebate on the returns herself.Makro has everything including the cheapest mountain bikes but try getting this one back home, biro pens large cartons, toothpaste/brushs,shampoo etc.pillows, sweets, bali version of m&ms which are not too bad and you could go on forever but they take cash so don't go too crazy as you can do because you will be surprised how quick it adds up.
