Hi guys just a continuance of my rant on Bali , but before i forget i must tell you about my Banana boat episode which was just after we met cheza and her hubby [ forgot your name sorry hopeless with names ] on the Sanur beach walk, after our little convo on the footpath we decided to stop for lunch and a cool drink at a little restaurant near the sanur beach resort before looking through the hotel for a future stay , well as anyone who has kids can justify especially 10 yr old boys all they want is fast and furious not laid back and alcoholic haha , suffice to say he went straight to the bali beach boys and tried to negotiate a price for a banana boat ride ,i said ok son 100,000 a person min 2 people get him down to 80,000 and wait for another person , no other
person arrived i finished my bintang [first and only for the day,so sad ] youngest son looking at me like come on dad if you dont come on with me i cant go on [ cant resist that one SUCKER ] so off i go in search of a reduced price BALI WARNING BALI WARNING , DO NOT TRY AND TALK DOWN A PRICE WHEN IT INVOLVES YOUR LIFE AND LIMBS ] i say 140.000 for two and only riders of course he agrees my youngest is in heaven , i,m not sure the bali pilot, has a funny glint in his eye, i have a boat in qld its 70 hp and i wouldnt dump someone at full pelt straight on into a swell without even a hint of warning, but obviously the bigger the engine [v4 115 hp ] the less warning or no warning do yo need to give people before you hammer them into the sea at full pace , but not content with that he thought he would do it twice , the reason this jbr is getting written is because after two and a half
weeks the bruising to my ribs is going inside and i thought it might
be nice to take a day of work and try and stay off pain killers for a day haha , dont get me wrong here guys i,ve been on heaps of rides etc sking so -forth but he just f88888ed up big time and put me and my youngest at risk my son was also bruised . so if you wanna ski or bananna boat dont screw them too low haha .. [or maybe the driver was a pillock ] hee hee .
we also went to a place near lovina where the locals swim its near an army base its a top place to meet the locals , but eat there at your own peril , its like a local outdoor swimming pool and the water comes from the mountains so its quite cool, we aquired some local ARAK
from one of the poolside vendors for about $4.00 aus and the arak must have been ok because we were drinking it with the locals before our departure outside the hotel at sunset, this JBR might take a little while to finish because the more i write the more i remember , if anyone wants any 2 week old prices we can accomodate .
will write more later
All the best Smirf
