Hi guys we have been back in Brissy over a week now and its my first chance to get onto the forum , I will try and fill you all in on our little adventures , Oh and Hi to Cheza and hubby who we met on a little walk at Sanur [just before one of my major blunders, tell you later ]
Left Brissy friday 15th july Flying Garuda Business class, it was definately worth the extra money from the Qantas lounge at the airport right through to the seating the French wines and the extended menu on board ,My youngest son who is 10 has never flown so far and he just thought he was the ants pants playing with all the gadgets and they even allowed him into the cockpit to sit in the co -pilots seat which is quite unheard of since the terror attacks all over the world i made sure he took plenty of photos for dear old dad so i could drool haha ,
My wife who isnt the best flyer in the world was also very delighted in the service and meals drinks etc.
We arrived six hours and a bit later very excited even though its our third trip we didnt bother with the shuttle transfer instead hiring a taxi as we were only going to the Bali-hai it only cost us the staggering amount of 4000 rupiah [50 cents or so ] arrived Bali-hai
first timers, I would recommend the hotel to people who dont expect over the top service and amenities but very friendly staff and we just loved the place and its great for kids, they were doing
some sort of maintenance to the room next door putting a new bath in i think and we didnt have hot water for two days and no water for a few hours so i had a little whinge and they upgraded us to a beautiful
suite overlooking the gardens and with a sea view .
You want to know what we did , Shopped a lot [ my wife could sleep shop] she was getting all the bargains but i would sooner buy a shirt and bugger off to the nearest Bar for an ARAK and Sprite with lemon or lime and plenty of ice [dont be worried about the ice too much just eat plenty of charcoal tablets they are called NORITS ], We also did a lot of day trips up to Ubud and Mas , Monkey forest, took atrip to the old Capital Singaraja [bloody hot up there ] we had a seafood lunch at Jambyran bay Where we met a newly wedded japanese couple so we all went on a day trip the next day to Lembongan island, let me give everyone a travelling tip if you organise a 1.5 hour cruise to the Island dont spend the night before in a bar till god knows what time drinking an assortment of arak ,Bintang and something blue and not expect to see the contents of your Stomach making an impromptu visit over the side of the boat, apart from that the island was lovely.
this is taking longer than i thought i might leave it here and do the remainder of our trip another time .
All the Best Smirf
