I have searched the forum for a good tailor for a men's suit, but now I am more confused than ever! And I and hope that you can help me. For every tailor that gets a good review on here- there is another post saying the same tailor totally screwed up. Also some tailors seems to get plenty of good reviews until you realise it is just one person posting loads of times for their favourite.
So...Is it just a lottery?
My impressions are as follows - any comments would be appreciated.
Janoke - Overall very favourable reviews, good value. Some comments imply you get what you pay for, and fair not great quality.
Komangs - similiar to above - not quite as popular.
Brisbane tailors - as Komangs - less reviewed.
Merrys - Aristo of Merrys - Mostly favourable (some mixed)- twice the price of above.
La Risso - similiar to Merrys - less popular - less bad reviews.
Anika - Top price. reviews split beween "Best Tailor in Bali, worth the price" and "Overpriced and terrible"
Also I don't want to cart a suit to Bali just to provide a suit to copy, plus have I have gained weight since last suit was bought ;-( I have read some comments that Bali tailors are not very reliable without a garment to copy from. What do you think?
I do not have to wear a suit from for work, so I am looking for an well-cut smart suit for job interviews, weddings etc. I am happy to pay up to 120-140AUD for a good suit. For me personally, a poor suit (or just one requiring loads of fittings/adjustments, even if great value for money, is not worth the hassle/ weight in the suitcase. I will be staying in Legian- so someone close would be good.
If enough people take the time to reply, I will post a consolidated post with all of the comments.
