Hi ya all,
After 11 wonderful days in Bali we returned home on Monday night and although I haven't got past the PBB (Post Bali Blues) enough yet to start the full JBR thought I would mention quickly the aquatonic pool at the Ritz.

Before leaving for our 20 something trip to Bali I had briefly read about the Aquatonic pool on the BTF. Decided that this was something I really wanted to do as you can imagine having been to Bali so many times Im always keen to explore and experience something new.

So the plan was that as my sister was staying down the road at the Bali Hai we would try and free our selves away from the boys for an arvo and go. Long story short we have 5 boys between us under the age of 6 and this just was not an easy feet.

So one day after plotting, ploying and begging I convince hubby to come with me after arranging 2 baby sitters for our two boys as they are only 2 and 5 months and we are fairly highly strung when it comes to leaving them.

Had the hotel book us in for 2pm, our trusty driver and very good friend Wayan collected us and off we went.

Arrived at the Ritz Carlton Thalasso Spa and walked through two wooden traditional looking temple doors to an oasis of Bali bale's filled with comfy chairs, coffee tables, chaise lounges and some rather cosy looking people all hanging out in matching pink patterned robe's with cushie little white and pink flip flop's to match. The look on hubby's face at this moment was priceless. I must admit apart from this little falter in his demur he was very open for the rest of our Ritz experience. It was at this moment he looked at me and whispered "Their not going to make me wear that too are they?"
What could I do but smile sweetly at him, grab his hand to prevent him from running to the car to hang out with Wayan and reply "Yes!"

We were greeted by a lovely hospitality lady before we could make it to the reception desk and ahh yes they had our booking now if you would like to come with me and have a seat I will get you booked in and a key blah blah blah. We sat and out of nowhere came a glass of orange tropical drink for each of us and after handing over 838,000rp (for both $35US each - and worth every penny!) and signing a form to say we wouldn't pass out in their pool and sue them and no of course we hadn't consumed alcohol in the past 6 hours we were escorted to the ladies and men's changing room's. I really think changing room's is such an appropriate name for the Ritz as once you have seen these your opinion of any bathroom will be changed for ever.

I had my little key for my wooden ornate looking cupboard (No way could you call this thing a locker....) Inside a little padded box for my precious things, my robe, Two bath towels and the flip flops. All in little baskets arranged neatly. Just as I was sliding my second foot into the flip flops over comes the attendant with a bigger pair for my western size feet comfort. So off I trot out to find hubby in his robe, (Apparently he had received a bit of a shock in the changing rooms as he didn't realise that there were attendants in there and he had dropped the tie to his robe, His word's "A man came out of nowhere and scared the crap out of me and before I knew it he was tying it around my waist...'.) Luckily as we are only using the pool our robes are white towelling with only a hint of pink trim as I am sure hubby thinks he is going to bump into someone he knows from home and may never live this down. Our lovely hospitality lady is waiting for us and leads us off to the pool.

This place is amazing, Jets, bubbles, swan heads, statue's and steaming water everywhere. The kind men around the pool turn on an outside shower for you to have a quick rinse before entering the pool and then guide you through the maze that is the Aquatonic pool.
Litre's and litre's of heated sea water rushing, gushing and jetted at your body for an extremely indulgent experience. Who ever created this place is the next Einstein.

The first part of the obstacle course is to walk two laps around a small square with water pushing you back, So hard to move and get around but with a lot of laughing and giggling we made it, About half way around this there are big pebbles on the ground in the pool under your feet giving them a massage.....Ahhhh

It continues on like this taking at least an hour to get around it all, while every part of your body is relaxed and massaged by water of varying intensities. It is also a very private experience as even though there are other people in the pool at the same time it is set out in such a way that you are mostly around corners or with your back to them looking at the glorious view of the golf course that looks over the cliff to the ocean. Pure Magic...

So time to get out and the boys have the outdoor shower going again for you before you have even got out, Quick rinse and back into the robes. Piping hot sweet ginger tea is served. You can just feel the detox and all that bintang soaking away. Ushered back to the changing room and into a glass panelled garden shower filled with lush thalasso products, The body gel, shampoo and conditioner all smell fantastic and feel even better.

I couldn't help myself had to ask the attendant if I could keep the flip flops as they were so cute and I was sure they would be throwing them out anyway, Yep no problems all mine now.

Met hubby outside and back into the Kiyang for the ride back to reality.

Sorry about spelling, grammar etc
