well to get there...i give them as big a case as us so i can use their luggage allowance even if they don't fill it.
I am surprised that people give their kids little cases and not realise if they are bringing toys (our daughter bought a dolls house and roller shoes back from Singapore)then they need the room like us and if they don't,we can certainly fill.
I make sure for the plane she has a book to read and playing cards and colouring etc , whatever as the Bali airlines often don't have anything for them. She has her own backpack or cabin bag and that also has in it tissues and lollies and a cardigan.
I take (on the advice from here)an icecream container incase she is sick and if not then can be used as a container for fruit or whatever.
I take snap lock lunch bags (advice from here) for her to put all the little trinkets or jewellery that she buys for herself or her friends.
I take at least 2 pairs of bathers as she is in the water so much and we all take old towels and then leave there.I also take aqua ear and ear plugs and i tell her to keep her mouth closed in any water.
We take a $2 pool noodle up there for her in the pool and we leave behind.
This time i got a bottle of flagyl from the doctors before we left to take incase she got Bali belly(she had before)and if we needed we would definately take her to BIMC medical centre and if you have a credit card take it for emergencies...make sure you have insurance too before you leave.I also am happy to use their medications if i don't have any.I think their kids panadole is better and now you can buy kids chewable.
I make her take an inner health tablet every day or drink a yakult drink every day and she also is not a huge water drinker so she drinks the cans of Rhino drink(a few flavors).
Up there is the Zoo, the bird park, The elephant park, Monkey forest (and we never take big bunches of bananas as that creates problems i believe)and if they get aggressive then walk fast and they jump straight off......but we love them and always go. Buba gumps gives them colouring to do and is a fun place to eat once.....
she likes to make friends with the balinese kids and she always takes them lollipops or colouring or blow bubbles and they play together.
When we find a cheap deal for massage on beach she enjoys one every day.
She loves a day at waterbom park.
She always takes a disposable camera with a flash and takes her own photos.
She went when she was 7 and she went again a couple of weeks ago (now almost 11) but she has also been to Singapore and to Thailand and we always do the same.
There will be much advice and many places to go but those are our little bits of advice, hope they help.
