You don't say where you will be in Bali during your stay. In the South, in Kerobokan, you cannot do better than the Umalas Equestrian Resort. But should you venture to the NW coast, in Pemuteran, Chris Brown, who also runs "Reef Seen Acquatics Dive Center" since the early '90s, fell in love with horses some 6 - 7 years ago.
He still owns the dive shop, but he hardly dives any more. Now it's horses, horses and more horses. They practically run loose in his house. He has now (last time I saw him) about two dozens of them, all from Yogya, and all in excellent health. And are they been taken care of! I wouldn't be surprise that Chris will soon be a candidate for a degree in vetenerian medicine.
You can ride on the beach, but better yet inside the Bali BArat National Park, which borders the coastal road. This is a relaxing way to penetrate this wilderness.

Have a good stay in Bali.
