we took travelan and used it mainly with the kids who did not get sick at all. I did get sick but had not taken travelan at every meal that day like you are supposed to.I was only really sick for 12 hours. You can still get sick on travelan for eg I guess if you drink the water but it apparently lessens the effect. I had also been washing my hands in local water then using wipes, probably a bit silly in hindsight. My husband didn't take any travelan and he only got a bit of the runs so who knows? Last time I went to Bali I took nothing and didn't get sick at all.LOL. Bit of a lottery so maybe we have had our turn ;-)
