attract a lower exchange rate, though not by much. The hassel is having to produce your passport each time. If you are not intending returning to the hotel straight away, then you have to carry the passport around with you which I would not recommend. Some people say they take a photocopy of it with them, but I dont know if this is accepted.
I usually take cash, [even if large sums] and lock it in the safe / safety deposit box. Also, take credit card and a cashcard incase something is stolen or lost.
The big benefit with travellers cheques is that if they are lost or stolen you will get your money back guaranteed. Just ensure you keep a list of them and the ones you have cashed.
Take a combination of cash and TC's if you dont want to use your cashcard. Cheers. :-)
