as soon as we said we had come from Bali in the last week, Dr contacted the Travellers Medical Centre, who said he should test for a range of things like Dengue, Typhoid, Malaria (top of the list) legionella etc. His chest was heavily congested too, so he also had a chest xray.
Copious amount of blood taken, 4 normal vials and 3 bottles that looked like those small spirit bottles for the Malaria, legionella and another I cant remember at the moment! myco something!
It got a bit spooky - the blood centre staff had to implement 'infectious' procedures that they had never used before - son had to be isolated, staff had to wear protective masks, gowns and heavy duty gloves and the infectious disease dr had to attend! Our GP had pre warned the Hospital we were on our way so they were waiting for us!
It will most likely all be clear, but at least we will know.
He is pleased - he cant go back to school until he is given the all clear! Almost worth it for him!
