My little girl last year was very ill with mosquito bites..... same thing fevers etc.... her whole body was swollen from bites...
An Australian nurse in Bali told me she was allergic to mossies.... however I was later told she could have actually contracted a form of malaria.... apparently there are many strains.
I hope your son imprves and it's nothing too serious
