timeshare. We purchased timeshare many years ago here in WA. Cost $2,000.00 Aus. We have the Blue time, 2 bdrm (6 persons) unit. When we purchased everyone said we were mad, we bought in the least popular time and least expensive. We have used it every year, here in WA in the winter time, except for the time we banked it and went to Switzerland with it. We have also banked and will be using it to go to China next year. I have stayed at the Peninsula Beach Resort, Tanjung Benoa, Bali using my sisters timeshare. It was beautiful. There are quite a few timeshares in Bali. Royal Bali Beach Club is in Jimbaren Bay and consistes of 18, 1 bdrm units and is supposed to be beautiful, haven't been myself. They are all 4-5* luxury. My parents and sister have used theirs extensively over Aus and the UK. The biggest problem is getting the week you want where you want it, we have never had a problem though. You do pay maintenance fees between $400-$500 Aus per year. Another problem is getting cheap airfare only....get round this by booking a cheap budget hotel/airfare package for beginning or end of holiday with extended flying dates. I am not a salesperson for timeshare but just letting you know that it is not all that bad, ours is still valued at $2,000.00 and you can buy here in WA still for that. Ours is for life. The reason so many people buy in Bali is because you are guaranteed a week there a year...ours is on availability...if no-one banks or doesn't use their week then no places for us to swap into. As I said though we haven't had a problem. Hope this helps.
