any info on Stop cold tablets??

I still have a box from last trip and this trip someone told me that you can't get them anymore unless you can find in the back streets as they have something dangerous in them...
Am a bit worried now (thought nothing happened with the couple i have taken in the past)...anyone know anything, they used to be popular?
