During my last trip (April this year) I was much more aware and bothered by the amount of smoking in restaurants. I dont know if it was because there was more smoking than usual (probably not) or if coming from Australia where there is virtually no smoking in public places I am more sensitised (more likely). One night at the Warung Sobat we found it impossible to eat comfortably in the restaurant as there were no tables that weren't adjacent to a smoking table. And I was surprised by the amount of Australians who take up the opportunity to smoke in restaurants in Indonesia even knowing what they now know about the dangers and discomfort of passive smoking for others.
