We used Bali Budaya Eco bike tour march 05, after Nicno wrote about it last year.
Your fitness level can hover around the zero mark and so long as you can ride a bike, get used to the hand brakes and avoid the occasional road surface hazards I strongly recommend it.
We are going again in August with a group of 6 or 8 and maybe 2 or 4 following behind in the vehicle.
As well as the tour being great value, with water and meals provided, you get to stop along the way and see the rice terraces, walk out on to a rice paddie, see spices and fruits, (have you ever seen cocoa fruit on the cocoa tree, I hadnt, and of course coffee beans), you get to see bamboo being split, get a better understanding of the temples and Hindu ways, visit a home compound and watch artists/painters at work. Back in Ubud you can tour the monkey forest too.
(The challenge it out for a rider to capture on film a photo of the mystery man in one of the local villages)!
We paid 360,000rp each too.
