First trip to Bali was 1990 when I was 15yo. First few days must admit I absolutely hated it. Couldn't understand why there were children/elderly people on the street begging, seemed dirty in comparison to 'home' and the constant 'you wanna buy this/that' scared the hell out of me.
A few days later, we realised how wonderful the place was, got to know quite a few of the locals and could open our eyes to what Bali was really about.
Am heading back in June (my 6th trip), hubbies 1st trip and cannot wait.
My personal reason for going back there - love the climate, the people, the sunsets, the fact that you can live so well for so little money, just a brilliant holiday all round.
