I took my 10 month old daughter (and a 3 year old at the time) all the way to france, via singapore, london and dublin (so lots of take offs and landings), also has been on planes to Qld and Melb and now going to bali. Trust me babies are the easiest to deal with on planes. Only once have I seen a grizzly baby on take off and landing and that was because the baby was stuffed up with a cold and the mother said her ears were a little inflamed, which was obviously sore during the pressure change. My girls have never had any problems flying.

After travelling so much with real young girls, the biggest suggestion is (if you are not breast feeding), take your own brand of formula and baby food. When in france all the baby food there is of a "sweet" nature and my daughter would not have a bar of it - arrrrggghhh so basically when we were out she was fed hot chips!

Travel very light for the baby - you really dont need to take much at all especially since the laundry is so cheap (just keep getting it washed rather than taking changes of clothes).

Young children as so adaptable to their surroundings, so enjoy yourself and if I can help anymore let me know.
