We booked in early January for mid September, and got the last beach front room at the Griya, in Sanur, and for 3 weeks we were weight listed on AP prior to getting 2 seats on the flights we wanted.
This was not the Travel Agent having a go at us either, as we have used her for some years and she really looks after all of our family.
Also we were not going to book until about now, but I contacted the Griya on another matter and just mentioned we would see them in September and they told me to get in contact with my agent as they had no accommodation, as all had been committed to wholesalers.
So don't know what is going on but if it's not busy then someone, wholesaler or package tour organisations are sitting on rooms and flight seats, it very may be a method of getting a good price, if you can't control the demand then control the supply, don't know!
