We stayed there a couple of times some years ago. Comfortable accomodation in sort of modernish blocks. Large pool with swim-up bar. Pleasant restaurant with live music some nights. Friendly attentive staff. Seemed to us to have a generally friendly clientele from Australia, Europe, America etc. No excess noise at night.

I understand that the Risata has been having renovations, so it may be better if you could get some up-to-date opinions.

I like that part of Bali. Handy to Kuta, but much quieter. You can easily walk to Kuta Square, or the Waterbom Park. Some nice lttle warungs in the street across from the hotel. Just an easy five minutes walk from the beach and the Pantai Restaurant. The Green Garden Spa is on the corner just before the beach. A nice little laneway full of nice shops with nice people heading away from the beach just past the Pantai.

Turn left towards Kuta from the end of the laneway and you pass a small supermarket, a Kodak moneychanger and the Green Garden Hotel, with a very reasonably priced restaurant. Across the road, up a funny spiral staircase, is Daddy's Restaurant where you can sit and watch the world go by.
