We ate around the pool a bit as it was easy after hot shopping trips in the mornings. My all time favourite was the "chicken and prawn sugarcane" which was minced chicken and prawn (or one at a time ?not sure ) wrapped around a lemongrass stem.served with sweet chilli sauce YUMMM .Later that afternoon we ventured out down Legian st again and the boys met us shopping with "dreadlocks" talk about laugh ! They seemed to like them but it didnt last too long and they were to be seen a couple of days later paying the beach girls to remove them (apparently they use some sort of adhesive contact to glue the dreaddi to your hair YUK ).Back to the shopping now.Got some beaded thongs for $7.15 and another pair down further for $ 5.70.we didnt bother bargaining with these prices.Daughter got lots of those brown bead surfy necklaces too.Ended up eating at Joni's on Padma st ( wayan and friends was packed which would've been my first choice )Had a nice share plate of mexican at Jonis which was lovely but a bit small for me ( like my food and LOVE mex).Picked up my Face to Face keyrings which look great.Wish I had thought to ask for the kids to be put on different ways up so that when you spin the disc they turn out the right way!! Its Bali remember !!Daughter scored a Louis Vitton cap for $ 4.30.(she is doing well this trip).Home to bed again.Cant seem to stay out late when I'm in Bali .I think the heat and the shopping get to me.
Wednesday.....
After yummy breakfast we walked up Rum Jungle Rd again ( is there some sort of pattern here ??)Taxi'd to Bintang supermarket and walked to Biasa where i got a lovely 3 way top for $16.50.they had some nice things but many were to small.Taxi'd to Chill spa which had been recommended to me but they only do massage so daughter didnt want to stay.Had a look at tha Bali Deli which if you lived there would almost be a must for shopping .Talk about yummy looking ready made food MMMMM.Taxi'd back to Mario Silver where daughter got 2 pr stud earings ? cant remember how much.
Taxi'd back to Tommy's cafe in Rum Jungle Rd.This is really nice cafe with lovely friendly staff. The other teens and their dad met us there and I had a yummy greek salsd with NZ fetta YUM daughter had a cheese platter, again with NZ cheese.Cost $7.20 for both with lemon juice and banana smoothie too.Tommy's is only open for breakkie and lunch but really worth a visit. Back to the pool and then I go back to Chill.WOW this is awesome !! So cool and clean and professional. All staff are lovely. It has only been open for 10 months. For 88.000 incl tax $12.60 I had "the Classic" reflexology for one hour. You firstly have your feet and calves washed off then slippers supplied you toddle off into a large room with lots of benches in it with sheer curtains in between each bed .there is very subdued lighting,it is very cool and there is cruisy mood music playing OOOOOHHHH I want to go back !!!! You are offered a tea of your choice and your own personal discman if you want your own choice of music. It really was sensational, it does hurt but at the same time it is very very relaxing and it is so quiet( personally dont like the masseuses chatting away to each other while they are working on you and this wouldnt happen here !!).They asked me to turn my mobile to silent which I always did but was subjected to some woman who's phone rang twice while I was in there and then she proceeded to answer the 2nd call and talk all the way out of the room !! GGGRRR. Sorry that was a bit waffly there !! Walked all the way home on air after this but that was really silly cause I lost all that relaxed feeling and had to shower straight away..so hot !!
Got taxi up to Garlic Lane and ordered a black leather short jacket and a handbag copied from Matt at French Leather. This was on the recommendations of someone on here but I have to say I am dissapointed as the zip has already broken on my bag and while the jacket fits perfectly the zip on it is awfully stiff.I didnt bargain at all with his price of $100 for the jacket and $30 for the bag so had hoped he would give me quality goods. He is a nice guy and speaks good english as he is obviously very used to dealing with Aussies a lot.Again got taxi back to Rum Jungle where we met our friends for dinner at the "Flying Piano".I had a yummy thai squid dish and daughter chicken fettucini.Washed down with some Hatten Aga.All up cost $22.85.This restaurant has a band that are quite good and play requests but come right to the table which makes it a bit hard to eat your meal at times!!The owner also plays a baby grand piano very well and I also heard him playing quite often during the day as I walked past.
Ok guys hav to end this one here now .Have been at work today and brought the flu home with me so I need a rest. Again I hope this is an enjoyable read for all....
