Importing a bit of stuff myself my advice would be to get an agent before you go and get them to do the initial scouting for you, you can then veto what you do/dont wish to inspect before you arrive. Compare with internet site prices and start from there. The problem I had with internet sites is that the minimum quantities they require are very commercial quantities, not suitable for small stand alone retailers. I also found the quoted internet prices dearer than what they were in Bali as well, it was cheaper to get on a plane and get the goods myself. Good starting point though for thinking about what you want. As with anything in Bali any contacts are usually relatives friends but I dont have a big problem with that, here in AUst we call it networking.
