I think people are going a bit LOCO over the potential of being set up. I believe Bali get's in the vicinity of 11,000 000 (made up figure) visitors a year. Suddenly one person says they have been set up and everone is freaking out. If you want to get paranoid about securing your bags I'd be more inclined to do so on the return trip.
The other thing is even if you put a lock on your bag which subsequently tells you that your bag has been tampered with and you open it the Denpasar Airport to find a very good fit of space bag on top of your luggage containing mull or white powder, do you honestly think that BALI's FINEST are gonna be understanding and offer you all expences paid accomodation? Actually I thinks its highly possible but you will probably find that your rooms right next to about 10 of Bali's newest citizens. (all sadly young expats)
