I was quoted $A300 for the smallest blind, here in Australia.
The sizes ranged from 60cm by 120cm to over 2m width.
Total cost was 1.27M rp (or about $A175), which averaged out to less than $20 each!!!
The shop wrapped them in plastic and bound them together. Then we added some packing tape and kept fingers crossed that wouldn't be damaged in transit.
No worries -they arrived home safely with us! We did have to sign a waver with the airline (AA), as they were not packed properly or in a case, but still got home in one piece.
This shop will make to any size that you ask - but will sew together widths if a very large window.
Only problem was that we had some made for a bay window, which does not allow for any overhang and the wooden tops do stick out a bit wider than the blinds themselves, so we need to cut them back a little bit. But if we don't get that done properly at home, will just return on our next trip and order some more.
They are not made of calico, but a natural looking fibre, with a lining in matching colour and they smell really lovely.
cheers,
Caroline
