We stayed in the Paradise Plaza SUITES in Sanur last September and thought it was fantastic. OK, not as modern as some of the bigger hotels, but not old and decrepit by any means. But as far as cleanliness goes you can't beat it. Spotless. And the rooms are HUGE. We stayed in standard room and that was 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge lounge, dining area, bar and kitchen. The staff are fabulous and bend over backwards to help, and if you have "midgets" like I do, there are 2 pools, one huge one for everyone, and another one near the kids club, which has a pretty awesome tunnel waterslide, and fully supervised by staff. Only drawback is that it isn't on the beach, but for 5,000RP we caught taxi's to Sindhu Beach regularly for the great shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. Make sure you try and request rooms that don't back onto the main road. Traffic could be a little noisy.
I am going to Bali again in 3 weeks time with my 2 kids (10 and 12) with no hubby (has to work to pay for my trip!!) and am staying at the Padma in Legian. Have stayed in Sanur twice, Nusa Dua once, and decided to try somewhere different this time. Can't wait!
