for the first two days my kids hated it. daughter now been six times, son is on his 9th trip in june, and me on my 12th in two weeks. the sellers are annoying at first, but you get over that. don't look at them if you are not interested in buying, say a polite no thanks, and keep walking. it is hot, i hate humidity, but being on holidays you can jump in the pool anytime or have a cold bintang! since my kids have stopped travelling with me, i travel alone and feel safer than here in perth.
doesn't seem odd that you are hesitant, many people are first time. it is all part of the experience. go and enjoy! .
