Also dates to pay by, differ for same airline. Then the mention of deals where people have to pay FOUR months in advance (prior to introduction of surcharge).
Maybe hiking up the surcharge is more of an incentive for people to pay in full MONTHS in advance, as $26 pp is easy to wear.
