Cant believe being extremely slow at this typing business and just spent the last hour typing this section and the computer locks up and now i have to do the whole thing again what a pain to say the least!!
Anyway up early for the usual walk at around 6 while its stiil cool and quiet had a chat to Joseph whom id met last year. Joseph is a timorese fisherman who has converted his prahu to take tourists out. He takes the surfers out into the waves past the breakwater or you can just go for the leisurely ride in close to the coastline. I think he works in conjuction with about 4 other prahu owners. They usually start up fairly high in the bargaining dept but prob, about the 100,000mark for about 1 hr ride now the fuel prices have increased. Didnt unfortunately get around to doing this along with the other thousand things i had on my to do's list for this visit but never mind theres always next time.. They are usually found on the beach near the dynasty from about 6 till 7.30 am waitng for any customers.
Had a text message from my driver Made Mangku who is now more like a friend that he was back from the village. If interested in a really good, reliable driver please have a look at his website for more info or leave me a message www.geocities.com/balidriver_mademangku best to send a simple text and Made will normally get back to you straight away.
Anyway picked up late morning to go to Makros to do the shopping for Panti Asuhan Salam an orphanage in Tabanan.
Makros is huge and worth a stop if you had a family or large group that were going to be staying for a few weeks otherwise if only in Bali for a week or so be easier just to go to local supermarket near your hotel. For ourselves stocked up on the dietcoke, bintangs snacks and the small boxesof juices and flavoured milk for Hannah. Before going for lounge lizard session near the pool filled up my small soft esky with our drinks and ice from the machine right outside room 273 which really cuts down on the room bill. Not sure the hotel likes this system too much but anyway..As at this time it was really humid and very hot you almost need a continual drink.
To get into the carpark you need to pay an entrance fee at Makros i dont think its very much though didnt even look as Made handed over the money.
Will continue this maybe later today before i lose it again and get out of the pjs before the days over.
