travel drs make the recmmendations based on known medical problems known in bali - you make the choice about what risk you are prepared to take. You will get advice here from some who have not had any shots, and so far have escaped any illness, and then theres others that figure risk not worth it. Dont forget hep a and b shots very applicable for any country ( in Oz we do get hep a risk where unclean food handlers pass it on, as in third world countries; hep b maybe not so risky but with innoculation you know you wont have to worry about it) Typhoid - can be tablets apparently IF you take them long enough before you go.
