We have put in a Balinese deck, 70sq metres, with a Balinese garden and are currently building water features (incl Bali Stone) that comprise of a plunge pool /spa .... five levels of smaller pools with cascades that then flow into a river approx 12 metres long. Where do you live? We, that's Kuta Ken & I (Bali Barbie) found it impossible to find Balinese design ideas so did our own. Stick with the Balinese principles ie: lots of layers (like the rice terraces) the trinity and use the traditional props like a turtle, umbul umbuls, umbrellas, prada, hairy lights in your garden, statues, loads of tropical plants (can help you with what to plant if you live in Sydney). Do not be afraid of putting large things in small spaces - the Balinese aren't and it works beautifully. We have bought everything we needed in Sydney and have transformed our backyard into something that is worthy of a TV makeover program. There is so much you can do if you know what is available and where to get it from - especially in Sydney which is where we live. Whenever we got stuck with any design feature we always went back to "what would the Balinese do".
