You need to start the number with + (lower left on phone pad, press twice)
then 61 for Australia
then delete the first zero, eg 03 becomes 3 or mobile 0418 - 418
so to ring 0419733222 in Australia from Bali
ring +61419733222 or 0397794444 becomes +61397794444
It is ok to change your phone numbers on your phone permanently to these numbers, no extra charge to call, when in Australia.
Cant help with the bands.
I buy an Indo sim card and pop this into my phone as call costs are much cheaper and I sms most times from Bali to Australia. If you do this, dont forget to transfer the contents of your Aus sim card to your phone memory so you have the numbers in the memory when you put the Indo sim card in.
