we were told by qantas that to get the "special" we had to book all our accommodation through them. Our Travel agent told us the same thing. We could have paid more $$ and not had those conditions apply. Anyway travel agent suggested for us to fly with Garuda - 7 nights accommodation via travel agent, 7 nights our own arrangements - no problem. Also Garuda gets to bali b4 lunchtime from Perth, Qantas gets in at about midnight. at the end of the day I think it depends on the terms and conditions of the package. hope this helps.
