Last time we went WWR we booked through Bali Aussie, A$39, on Ayung River, don't know which company but there were no steps. We weren't happy with the tour at all, rafting was just OK, shower facilities at end were discusting, dirty towels, communal shower room covered with an inch of dirty water, you try to put dry clothes on while you're paddling and nowhere to keep them dry till you put them on. This was followed by the worst meal I'd ever had in Bali. The first time was brilliant, I think it was with Sobek on Telaga Waja River (can't spell it). Great rafting, individual shower facilities, with hot & cold water, nice clean soft towels, & a great meal overlooking the river. It was well worth the couple of hundred steps up at the end.
