we have done packages for the whole stay, and also a minipackage to get the cheaper flight, but booked directly with the hotel. We found the accom cheaper with LBH to book direct.
We stayed in a family room the first time, we quite liked it because it was very hot (December) and this room was quite dark, so we got lots of sleep and the air cond worked well. But there was only one toilet which was on the other side of our room, so the kids had to walk past our bed to get to the bathroom - not so good in the middle of the night. I can imagine some wouldnt like it.
LBH has a fantastic pool and two other ones, one new since we were there last time.
Now we are staying in 2 separate bungalows, as the 'kids' are now 20 and 15 years old. We have an agreed price of $100US each per room, which is up there, and it includes all breakfasts, and taxes. It was about $1500 more doing it through a package.
If you really want to treat yourselves, fly Executive Class - the only time wwe can afford to do it is when we go to Bali on Garuda.
