plastic wrap for suitcases at airports?

Some one told me that you can have suitcases wrapped in plastic at the airports. Apparently it was on the news last week. Has anyone heard about this or used this service , or know how much it costs?
I am not sure if the person was joking with me because I am going to Bali in June or if it was for real?
