yes we did have a day driver costing approx $45.00 for the day
Elephant park was our 1st trip that day and we got there at 11.10am and left around 1.00pm if you dont go for a ride there is not a lot to see, only photos with the elephant and the show which is only 11.30am and 2.30pm, The rides go all day (i think)
i'm pretty sure you 16 yr old would be an adult not sure about 13 as my kids are only 4 and 7, hope this helps you, it was a great experience.
