a male or female but i am a female and i always take a wrap. Non bulky so it can be thrown over my handbag but warm if i need something.I have one that is like a poly cotton so is thin but warm enough.
As for a guy......perhaps a long sleeve shirt and can roll sleeves up?
Ask the flight attendant for a blanket too.
