I use locks from those cheap Asian stores where you get 4 and sometimes 6 locks on a card that all use the one key. I forget how much they were but they are only a couple of dollars. I would still rather use a lock (albiet not top quality) than a cable tie. Even a cheap lock is a bit harder to get into than one slice with a knife for a cable tie. I would only consider using a cable ties where a lock wouldn't fit so whilst I think they have their place, I don't think they serve as an adequate replacement. But that's just my opinion.
