Last year we used the internet cafes to ring home. A lot of them (ask at the counter if they have telephones to ring australia) have phone booths of a sort down the back of the shop. These are on a timer (ours were in Rp) and tell you how much the call is costing you. The rates were cheap and we could all afford to have good chats with the kids for a good price. The Wartels would offer a similar facility. We used a little internet cafe on Poppies II just up from the Barong, but there a HEAPS of them around.
