After being home for 3 weeks I have finally found a moment to write about our 1st trip to Bali
It was fantastic, we left here on Feb 27th with no problems arrived ½ an hour early so could not be happier, as we were travelling with a 7 and 4 year old (who were great on the flight)
My hubby worked so much before going that he didn't get a chance to read much about Bali, so the porters trying to grab our cases at the airport came as a shock to him.
I was glad for the help 3 suitcases 3 hand luggage bags and 2 young kids, anyway we made it to our hotel, and we stayed at the Bali Dynasty in a kid's suite which was fantastic.
We made our way straight to the pool, as the heat and humidity was full on,
The local's were even saying that it was hotter than normal.
Helgie arrived in the late afternoon with all our movie and a play station that we got for our son's birthday (he was fantastic) he set everything up and made sure we could use it.
(He even came back 4 days later as we where having trouble playing movies it was something we were doing wrong)
Here are the highlights of out trip:
Elephant safari it was fantastic the kids had a ball and what a fantastic memory for them
Bird Park found all the staff at this park to be so helpful and friendly
Reptile park kids loved but after the other 2 parks could have missed it
Bali bombing memorial
Going to the orphanage although next time will donate to villages
Laying and doing nothing our life here is crazy so sitting by a pool and meeting great people to share a few cocktails with was super.
Shopping, shopping and more shopping
Eve of Nyepi to see the magical floats and dancing was great although the heavens did open and we got soaked
Waterbom park best work out your legs will get climbing those stairs
Eating: have some prices this is for the cost of 4 of us with drinks (and hubby eats big)
Bubba Gumps $47.00 was nice worth it just for the really touristy thing
Daddy Café close to Dynasty and good value went twice $35.00 and $25.00
Kori loved it, wished we had the kids sat and went alone $57.00 (lots of seafood)
Loctus café Ubud worth it just for the few $34.00
Indo national very good food lots of Aussie $45.00
Poppies very good $35.00
Gracie Kelly at the dynasty $45.00
We did tip but gave it the waitress after we had paid the bill (hopefully she got to keep it)
Even the room service at the Dynasty was good for the night we were to tired to go out

We [probably got stung a few time as this was our 1 st trip but I was happy with what we paid, but we not go around Nyepi again as some shops shut 4-5 days

My memory is already fading me, I would like to thank everyone for there help on this forum without the ultimate price list I would have been ripped off.
We loved the Balinese people we only meet one rude shop holder and a few rude taxi drivers, but 99.9% of the people where helpful and good fun to talk to and just relax with the battering and have fun with it, we gave every taxi driver 10,000rp not matter what the fare it so cheap, if our fare was more we tipped 5-10,000 every time, and our day driver was Made at 300,000rp a day very nice guy.
Must add the Kid's club at the Dynasty was fantastic, I didn't use a baby sitter a night but would next time, would also return the dynasty.
