Adults can bring in two 1.125 litre bottles -total allowance 2.25 litres, so yes, two adults can bring in a total of 4 bottles, or 4.5litres between them. Smokes have gone up to a total of 250 cigs -from the old 200 so again two adults could bring in a total of 500 between them, or 250 grams of cigars or tobacco products.
On top of those, adults are now allowed A$900 each of general goods duty free.
Persons under 18yrs of age, or aircrew! are limited to $450 worth of general goods, and under 18's -- NO booze or smokes.
The old system whereby you could bring in extra amounts of booze or smokes up to a certain duty limit as long as you declared them, has
FINISHED! & BEWARE-- customs are right on the ball with any excess so try an extra bottle or carton at you peril :-(
You'll get hit for every cent they can get you for on everything!
