paintings are a particular bargain.
You really need to spend time in ubud, that is were most of the galleries are, going from cheap "tourist" art up to very collectable stuff. But still all a bargain.
You need to spend at least 2 days if you want to find and get around to all the good ones. Also you will go into visual overload and forget what it is your actually looking for. I recommend taking along a digital camera to remind you of what you saw and like.

Abstacts for around $500 compare with $2000+ works back home.
But the best buy's are in the $2000+ range of established artists. The quality is amazing for the price.
Depending on the size you will need to take the canvas off the frame to bring it home. It costs about $150-200 to get it restreched at a framer.
If you want some directions to the good galleries let me know.
