I believe most will let up to 32kg go as that's the most they're allowed to physically lift. Officially though, they're able to charge you excess if you've got more than the amount specified on your ticket.
Last trip I brought back a total of 32kg in 2 bags (not including my heavy carry on bag) and there was no problem.
