We had 2 daytrips with Teddy and 1 with his friend ketut who had the minivan that seated 8. There were 4 adults and 4 kids. The minivan seated us all very comfortably as the 4 kids sat in the back and fought then 3 adults then 1 adult up front. Teddy borrowed the minivan on one day, but Ketut wouldn't let him have it the next time, so we had to go with Ketut himself, but he was fine as well.
Teddy has a Kijang from memory, that held the 4 adults fine, but if your boys are big, go for the van. As you don't need seatbelts in the back (there aren't any anyway!) we could all squeeze in.
