I always make a point of including something from my own country. Yes, you can get things a lot cheaper in Bali, but I think its nice for our sponsored kids to have something Aussie as well however small. Last time I bought some Aust designed and made t shirts very cheaply from some markets here in Adelaide, and in the past I have included a small book from the Steve Parrish range avail from post offices - they have great colour photos of native animals etc, and also have colouring in bks in the range. My daughter gave her little girl one of the beanie ?? bear toys, she found one with aust emblems on from our local toy store. Other things I have taken are school book labels with aust animals on. Basic toiletries are always needed, we have found that the girls like simple jewellery, maybe some bangles, hair accessories, underwear, maybe something that the whole family can use. I'm sure that Helen will respond with some very useful suggestions . Enjoy your visit, its always a highlight of my trip.
