What a shame about Poppies Lane... sounds like you had a nightmare experience on your hands. We don't venture down there much, we only go down Poppies Lane way when we go to TJ's for dinner sometimes.
Will definitely go and have a look at O'Bali for some clothes.
Would never stay in Kuta.... gold medal for trying... we like Legian, it's not too far away, but it's far enough away from Kuta. Kuta is a nightmare to stay at, except for if you just there to party and you are "younger" and don't mind all the action.
Glad you had a good time though and hopefully you can laugh a little about all those horrible experiences - at least you are already planning to go back!!! That's a good sign.
