I re-read your email and was curious about the fact that "you are taking YOUR (not our) child, and WE are staying.. " etc. Is the soh* not the childs' parent too, and is he not strong enough to share the load? A pusher would constitute a fair part of one's baggage allowance, and it may be better to leave it home if another method could be found... like hiring one for the solo shopping days.
