DAY 9 - We were packed and ready to move into our villa for the last day, not sure why we are being moved but who cares. We went to breakfast and on arrival back found all our gear had been moved into the villa. WOW this is NICE..........why didn't they move us here earlier on we say.......... Air conditioning in the bathroom!!! Just to give you a taste of the opulence in the villa.
As today was going to be our last full day we had lots to cover.............
I thought I would have a cut and colour to freshen up for my home coming.........so off we were to Matahari's Denpasar , we had noticed last time we were there a Hairdressing salon , as Brenda is a Hairdresser I felt safe as I know she wouldn't let them do anything that seemed unusual. We found Yopies well what an experience this turned out to be, all the staff were hairdressers by day and singers/ drag queens by night, very entertaining lots of singing, laughter and prancing around. Before they colour they shampoo my hair, colour, shampoo off, cut hair, shampoo hair so by the time I left I had had my hair washed 3 times, not to be discouraged by the containers they kept their shampoos/conditioners in well should I say they were like those plastic round dishes that everyone has in their laundry where they just scoop it out with their hands, I wish Brenda hadn't told me to look.
Oh well I was happy with the end result for the total cost of 106,000 = $14.
Back to the Animale Factory to grab some last bargains as I think we may have a little bit of room left in our cases.............oops forgot about our suits we are having made.......thank goodness for those travel space bags.........highly recommended to purchase some of these before you go.
Today we were preparing ourselves for our return home........you know.......how about we tell our families that there is a plane strike and we have to stay another 5 days.....no that wont work.........what about if we just miss our flight.............and cant get on for another couple of days........... naaaaaaa that wont wash either...
Oh well we just have to counsell each other over this hurdle.
Whilst sipping our happy hour cocktails and soaking up the last bit of sun we continue to dream of excuses, Brenda even send an sms to her family to say she was staying on and the reply well....it would make your hair curl.
The Tailor arrived with our suits and we were able to try them on in our airconditioned room which was much more pleasing then the hot shop.
Everything fit perfectly for both of us......... Beautiful work from JANAKO Tailors.
Next Brendas handmade court shoes arrived again a perfect fit for $35 from DOLPHIN Leather.
Well we have to have one more massage before we go..... I was after a traditional Thai massage and as Brenda was sunburnt she needed a cooling massage. We visited Lhaksmi Healing Massage in Camplung Mas Lane for our 8pm appointment.
I had never had a Thai massage before so was a bit unsure of what to expect.......pain yes........relaxing, no ..........had never really had a massage where the person actually lies on you whilst pushing at pressure points...oh well I'm thinking , I wont be able to walk tomorrow to get on the plane..........At one stage Brenda looks over and let out a big ...OH MY GOD.......... Don't tell me ..I said .I am the one on the other end here......... after 1 hour I felt remarkably energised and so supple in my limbs ......for this torture I paid 70,000 = $10 but well worth it...........Brendas cooling relaxation massage was the same.... So if you are after a healing massage I would recommend this little place..........when you arrive they give you a nice cooling footbath as a welcome.
Believe it but the shops are still opened .....Brenda is still saying I cant buy anymore as there is no room in my suitcase.......No... I tell her .... we don't have to buy we can just window shop......we were going to go via Dukar (horse/cart) but we couldn't negotiate a good price so we opted for the air conditioned blue bird taxsi.........off to Betty Bu's at Kuta, they sell quilt covers , pillows made from sari materials.......you guessed it Brenda couldn't help herself she had to have the queen size quilt cover, 4 pillow cases, now its time to worry about fitting it all in the suitcase. I restrained myself as the quilt cover I wanted Brenda had bought and as no 2 are alike I didn't want any of the other ones anyway.........
It was now 10.30pm and we hadn't had dinner we started walking along the beach front surely there was something open...............humm there was but I wont bother mentioning it as it wasn't the best meal we had had..........it was the first restauraunt past McDonalds ...don't go there..............
Our final day next.
